It's My Pleasure

LP (Item 475503) A&M, 1975 — Condition: Used

Billy Preston's getting some really wonderful help on this mid 70s set – assistance from a cool array of talents that includes Syreeta, Stevie Wonder, Shuggie Otis, and Keni Burke! Most of these guests artists only appear on a song or two each, but they really help Preston expand his sound from the past – and move into some of the hipper territory that each of the guests was laying down on their own records of the time. Billy's not trying to push himself as strongly as before, and in a way it's almost like he's laying back to take a few lessons from others – still somewhat righteous and gospel-influenced in his groove, but also somewhat more restrained and moving towards mellower soul at points. Titles include "Fancy Lady", "Found The Love", "That's Life", "Song Of Joy", "It's My Pleasure", "All Of My Life", and "I Can't Stand It". (Cover has some peeling and stuck-on paper on the bottom 3 inches.)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
