CD (Item 610893) Blue Note, 2012 — Condition: New Copy
Complex grooves from guitarist Lionel Loueke – and a set that may well be his best so far, thanks to key help from Robert Glasper! Glasper co-produced the set, and also plays piano and Fender Rhodes as well – often with those great blocky rhythms we love so much in his own music – a style that really helps to re-shape Loueke's guitar lines, and give his music a whole new sort of vocals! Two tracks feature cool vocals from Gretchen Parlato – whose airy style is a great match for the spots in which Loueke sings as well – and titles include "Tribal Dance", "Freedom Dance", "Chardon", "Hope", "Goree", and "Bayyinah". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
