Cherry Pie Guy
LP (Item 2525) Roxbury, 1976 — Condition: Used
An obscure set – but a tasty bit of 70s female soul, with a sound that's a bit like First Choice on the best cuts! Kenny Nolan wrote and produced the album, and handled most of the arrangements with Gene Page – in a style that's got a definite Philly Groove feel to it, right down to instrumentation that includes electric sitar and vibes. Highlights include Linda's answer to Jim Gilstrap, a sweet track called "Take Your Mama For A Ride", plus the great "Dial L for the Love Squad", a sort of companion to "Armed & Extremely Dangerous", with a similar girl cop theme feel! Other tracks include "Cherry Pie Guy", "Lost & Found", and "High Wire". (Cover has a cutout notch and a hint of light wear.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
