Irrelevant Future (LP sleeve edition)
CD (Item 567743) Trouble In Mind, 2012 — Condition: New Copy
Destined to be an instant classic – a set of short, sharp, shocks from Estrogen Highs – a quartet with a searing sound that's way more vibrant than you'd guess from their name! The album's got a perfect sort of early 80s punkish blend – never as nasty as LA hardcore, nor as arty as east coast work – with almost a British hint of ethereality lingering back there between the fast guitars and drums. But we also hear a freshness, too – kind of an "all its own" sort of voice that reminds us of the time the Minneapolis scene first started making waves – or when we'd fall in love with a band after seeing them open for a Homestead Records act, then never get a chance to hear from them again. It's a fleeting quality, to be sure – but one that's captured brilliantly in this album – the kind of well-done grassroots record we thought they didn't make anymore these days! Titles include "Tell It To Them", "I Wanna Be Tall", "I Saw Light", "Temporary Spaces", "It Has To Rhyme", "The World Is Flat", and "Grass Of Leaves".
