Great early work from the groovy Claus Ogerman! You might call this Latin – but it's more hipster go-go music, with a full-on sax section performing a nice set of tight choppy instrumentals, all conducted by Claus! The album's got a pretty darn groovy sound – lots of swinging rhythms and a great little groove that makes us really love this one! Titles include "Always", "Nightmare", "King Of The Road", "My Honey's Lovin Arms", "Bewitched", and "Apples & Bananas". (Sealed 60s pressing!)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Sounds Of Today
Alshire, Late 60s. Very Good+
Groovy set of pop stuff, with a real "turned on" sound – as the label says. Monty Kelly did the arrangements, and he gave the music a pretty groovy feel – and contributed the great originals "Blues For The Guru", "Strings For Ravi", and "Stone ... LP, Vinyl record album

My World
Columbia, Late 60s. Near Mint-
Although Jo Basile made some snoozier albums for Audio Fidelity, this one for Columbia's a gem, and has a great groovy jet-set swingin' feel to it. Jo plays accordian and vibes, and he also arranges the whole thing with a nice tight sound. Tracks include versions of "Man & A Woman", ... LP, Vinyl record album

Africana!
Strand, Late 50s. Very Good+
Traditional African sounding stuff, but we're not sure if it's legit, or played by some West Coast studio musicians. The cover's got a nice cartoony look to it, with a fearful female face peering over a jungle landscape. LP, Vinyl record album
