LP (Item 598189) Philips/Soul Jazz (UK), 1963 — Condition: New Copy

A seminal set from one of the greatest bossa combos ever – a group who could boast sharp instrumentation and warm vocal harmonies too! The mix of sounds is completely sublime – jazzy piano trio sounds at the core, topped by soaring harmonies from the members of the trio – a combination the group pioneered with this legendary album – and helped set a whole new standard for the bossa nova generation! Luiz Eca heads up the group on arrangements and piano – with percussion from Helcio Milito, bass and reeds from Bebeto, and just a bit of guest guitar from Durval Ferreira – on killer cuts that include "Batucada", "Sonho De Maria", "Mas Que Nada", "Moca Flor", "O Samba Da Minha Terra", and "Rio". (Super-heavy cover, too – almost Japanese-style!)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
