Dave Godin's Deep Soul Treasures Vol 1

Add to Cart$15.99 ... CD
CD (Item 9287) Kent/Ace (UK), Late 60s -- Condition: New Copy

Collector Dave Godin put together this batch of 25 rare deep soul cuts, with a real focus on hard soul with a southern feel. Artists include The Knight Brothers, Reuben Bell, Bessie Banks, Raw Spitt, Lee Moses, Eddie & Ernie, Jimmy Holiday, and The Untouchables, and the groove is straight 60's all the way through. Very solid stuff, and sort of like having the privilege of having a great DJ make a tape for you of all his rare tracks. (Actually, that's exactly what it is -- and what a treat!) Tracks include "I'm Never Gonna Live It Down" by the Knight Brothers, "Have a Little Mercy" by Jean Wells, "Showdown" by Kenny Carter, "I'm Not the One" by Larry Banks, "The Turning Point" by Jimmy Holiday, "It's Not the Last" by Reuben Bell & the Casanovas, "I Still Love You" by Jean Stanback, "Songs To Sing" by Raw Spitt, and "I Fell Like Cryin" by Sam & Bill.  © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc.
