A masterpiece – one of 2 crazy albums in which Woody Herman's late band meets the Cadet arrangements of Richard Evans. You might think the combination wouldn't work – Woody's big band flourishes meeting up with Evans' compressed soulful grooves – but gosh, the record is simply incredible, and it's one that we'd never part with in a million billion years! Worth it alone for the version of Edu Lobo's "Pontieo", but there's lots of other nice stuff – like "I Say A Little Prayer", "Hush", "Keep On Keepin On", and "Light My Fire". (Blue label pressing. Cover has light wear & a name in pen.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

One of the few cases in jazz where an oft-played classic still resonates with power! Feels So Good
Kudu, 1975. Very Good+
An incredible batch of electric funk from Grover Washington Jr – easily one of his best albums ever! Impulse, 1964/1976. Near Mint-
One of the greatest albums ever from Yusef Lateef – even if it's sometimes overlooked! The album was issued in the 70s, but it features material from the famous Live At Pep's concert in 1964 – but which didn't appear on that initial record. In fact, it's arguably a lot hipper than ...
