CD (Item 375924) Dragon (Sweden), 1999 — Condition: New Copy

Wonderful later work from these two Swedish jazz legends – reedmen whose paths have crossed often over the years, blowing together beautifully in a really sympathetic setting! There's wonderful saxophone interplay on nearly every number – as Domnerus plays mostly alto on the record, and just a bit of his famous clarinet – and Rosengren plays tenor on almost every track, save one, which features some great flute! Rhythms are very laidback and open – really letting the main energy come from the reed players – a nice testament to the talents of Jan Lundgren on piano, Hans Backenroth on bass, and Aage Tangaard on drums. Titles include "But Not For Me", "Out Of Nowhere", "I Cover The Waterfront", "It Don't Mean A Thing", "Just Friends", and "Lover Man".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
