Reedman Daunik Lazro is a player who's always had a great ear for working with electric elements – and here, he comes together beautifully with guitarist Jean-Francois Pauvros – in a set of slow-tangled sounds that are rich in tones and textures! Lazro's baritone and alto still have elements of familiar saxophone modes – but the guitar from Pauvros is often really nicely abstracted – taken to unusual areas that really push things past the obvious, creating compelling sounds in the album's improvisations.
