CD (Item 606806) Future Noise, 2012 — Condition: New Copy

Mark Stewart's still got a hell of a lot of power well into the 21st Century – that raw, righteous energy we first loved in Pop Group, really dug on his Adrian Sherwood recordings, and which is still going strong here! The set's got a vibe that's almost an offshoot of his best 80s modes – lots of noise and fuzz around the edges – in that way that often obscures Mark's vocals slightly, but also gives them a lot more force as well. Instrumentation is nicely mixed-up and messed-up throughout – again, almost a classic Sherwood sort of vibe – and the album features amazing guest work from a lineup that includes Richard Hell, Kenneth Anger, Lee Scratch Perry, Primal Scream, Keith Levene, and others! Titles include "Vanity Kills", "Gang Warr", "Apocalypse Hotel", "Stereotype", "Gustav Says", "Letter Dub", "Robo Want (parts 1 & 2)", and a surprising cover of David Bowie's "Letter To Hermoine". (Great 2CD package – with a beautiful booklet of images in the middle, and a bonus CD that features the "Experimental EP".)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
