Bootleg Of The Bootleg EP

A tough EP that for the most features the angry side of Jean Grae, one of the best female MCs out there right now. Jean is a straight-up vocal purist, keeping her rhymes way out in the mix and the clear steerage department of the sound. 6 listed tracks – and nearly 45 minutes worth of unlisted bonus tracks – essentially making this EP a full length! Tracks inlude "Hater's Anthem" (which seems to be sort of an answer and/or hommage to Slim Shady, complete with faux string synth parts), "Take Me", "Swing Blades" featuring Cannibal Ox, "My Crew", "Code Red" and "Chapter One: Destiny". Like It Should Be
Jive, 1994. Used
One of the many lost Hiero efforts on Jive. Like other early Hiero LPs this one's got nice jazzy Bay area beats and is still filled with some of the energy that they seemed to lose a bit of before their indie renaissance in the late 90s. 14 tracks counting the intro, including "Brown ... CD
