LP (Item 612160) Recollection GRM (Germany), 1976 — Condition: New Copy

Great late work from the legendary Pierre Schaeffer – the electronic musician's last composition, and possibly one of his most striking too! The work is awash in analogue electronics – especially the noisy sort – and really shows the evolution in musique concret from the 60s onward – into a realm that's almost even more abstract, and more without referent than ever before! Schaeffer based the work around the three fundamental measurements of sound – frequency, duration, and intensity – and together, these forces work to create a great sense of space throughout. Titles include "Strette", "Baroque", "Plutot Dynamique", and "Moins Banal".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
