A cool contemporary combo, but one who draw heavily from the sound of Italian film scores of the 70s – all with an approach that easily makes this album a perfect partner for any giallo soundtracks you might love! Instrumentation is nice and dark – a cool mix of strings and keyboards, with some slight and subtle rhythms – all used together in ways that are never too jamming, and which really preserve a strong sense of tension throughout – but also offer up some melodic moments as a respite, too – that balance between darkness and light you'd find in the best film scores by Ennio Morricone! The overall presentation is wonderful – truly classic, and worthy of the great cover as well – and titles include "Sotto Il Sole", "Gli Occhi Della Dolcezza", "Uccelare", "Canto Del Cigno", "Agente D'Oriente", and "Senza Calore". Cinephile/Castle (UK), 1975. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)
Heist films always provided some of the best soundtracks of the 70's, and this one (starring Robert Shaw and Richard Roundtree, and issued in the US as Diamond Shaft) is no exception! A funky classic from Galt MacDermot! The record is Galt's score for the blacksploitation film that starred Godfrey Cambridge and Raymond St Jacques – and it's a mix of vocal and instrumental tunes that takes off from the sound of his late 60s work. Melba Moore sings on a few cuts – ... LP, Vinyl record album

House Of The Devil
Death Waltz (UK), 2009/2014. New Copy (reissue)
The masterfully eerie original soundtrack to Ti West's House Of The Devil – a late 00s movie that's a pretty great riff take on the suspenseful occult thrillers of the late 60s and early 70s – and Jeff Grace's score is pretty close to perfect! Much like the film, the soundtrack builds ... LP, Vinyl record album
