Best Of Louis Jordan

CD (Item 509120) MCA, Mid 40s-Mid 50s/1975 — Condition: Used
Out Of Stock

4.70 11

A great collection of Jordan's material from the mid 40s to the mid 50s – starting with his jazzy numbers of the earlier years, and moving into the more blues/rock 'n roll sound of later recordings. His band always sounds great and it also sounds like they're having a good time especially when they participate in the dialogue of the songs. There are a total of 20 songs and they include "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie", "Saturday Night Fish Fry", "Barnyard Boogie", "I Want You To Be My Baby", "Caldonia", "Run Joe", "School Days", "Buzz Me", "Beans & Corn Bread" and "Don't Let The Sun Catch You Cryin".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Sublime southern soul from two of the genre's greats! Clay Hammond is perhaps not as well known as ZZ Hill – but they're both singing here on rare recordings done for Kent US during the mid 60s, produced with a sweet soulful finish that's extremely nice. The groove is almost in a Hi Records ... CD
