Krakow Jazzklub – Poland 1966 (Japanese paper sleeve edition)
CD (Item 614514) Hit/Jazzhus Disk (Japan), 1966 — Condition: New Copy
Brilliant bracing sounds from this groundbreaking group – recorded in Poland in the mid 60s, with an added suite of tracks as well! The ensemble is led by bassist Erik Moseholm, who composed all the music in the set – and features amazing horn interplay from a lineup that includes Bent Jaedig and Niels Husum on tenor, Bent Nielson on baritone, Palle Mikkelborg and Allan Botschinsky on trumpet, Poul Hindberg on alto, and Torolf Molgaard on trombone – criss-crossing beautifully throughout, and bursting forth in momentary expressions of individual voice as well. Rhythms are as offbeat as the horns – played by Bent Axen on piano, Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen on bass, and Bjarne Rostvold on drums – and the group also features great work from Louis Hjulmand on vibes and Ole Molin on guitar – both players whose instruments are a key part of the sound. Titles include "Staccato Blues", "Hanne", and "Blues Suite". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
