Tough Talk (1963 – single LP)
LP (Item 2482) Pacific Jazz, 1963 — Condition: Used
Great early Crusaders stuff, and like many of their 60s sides, filled with memorable soul jazz that would become the template for a sound that would become the face of popular jazz for decades. The songs are almost all short, hard-cracking originals, and they've all got that tight LA groove that the band virtually invented – with sharp, concise solos that ring out nicely by Wayne Henderson, Wilton Felder, and Joe Sample. 9 numbers in all including "Boopie", "Turkish Black", "Deacon Brown", "Tough Talk", "Lazy Canary", "Lonely Horn", "Brother Bernard" and "No Name Samba". (Blue label pressing. Cover has a split bottom seam & some wear. Vinyl has a mark that clicks on track 4, side 1.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
