Abstract Truth
CD (Item 496099) European Echoes, 2009 -- Condition: New Copy
Plenty of power here -- a hip trio that features saxophonist Rodrigo Amado on tenor and baritone, alongside bold rhythms from Kent Kessler on bass and Paal Nilssen-Love on drums! Both Kent and Paal are players we know and love from other albums, and they definitely hold up to their previous promise here -- propelling the tunes with a dynamic energy that's totally great -- followed by Amado's well-crafted tenor lines, and some surprisingly nice moments on baritone too. Most tracks feel relatively free, but have an inherent sense of structure -- at least through their sense of force -- and titles include "Human Condition", "The Kiss", "Universe Unmasked", "Enigma Of The Arrival", "The Enchanted Room", and "Clouds & Shadows". © 1996-2010, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | |||||
