The classic first album from Delegation – a great male soul trio from the late 70s, and one who sounds great on both sweet mellow tunes and more upbeat ones! Delegation have a sound that's quite unique, especially on this album – a groove with slightly tropical traces on some numbers, and a way of putting over a tune that borrows a bit from the earlier east coast harmony scene, but which wraps things up in a completely different style of production. The balance is hard to describe accurately, but it's definitely a standout for the time – and a real maturation of an earlier male soul group mode. Titles here include the famous break track "Oh Honey", plus "The Promise Of Love", "Mr Heartbreak", "Where Is The Love", "Soul Trippin", and "Let Me Take You To The Sun".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Enchantment
United Artists, 1976. Very Good+
Soaring grooves and mellow moments – a perfect blend of 70s soul styles, summed up here beautifully by Enchantment! The album's one of the group's greatest – and certainly one that's been very well-remembered around these parts – thanks to some rock-solid arrangements from Johnny ... LP, Vinyl record album
