One of the most compelling albums we've ever heard from Karl Berger – a set that seems to have a bit more soul and spirit than some of his other records of the time! The set's a duet outing with bassist Dave Holland – and Berger plays piano, vibes, and even a bit of balafon – but in these well-constructed lines that have a lyrical beauty we don't always remember in his work – well-stated themes that are filled with great tones and colors, mixed with a few more experimental moments too.
