Young & Rich/Now

CD (Item 605988) A&M/Real Gone, 1976/1977 — Condition: New Copy

The second and third albums from The Tubes – Young & Rich and Now from '76 & '77 – weird, fun and satrical sets that sound to us like they were recorded a good decade later than that! Young & Rich features extroverted song structures with lyrics that both celebrate and lampoon rock and disco cliches – making fun of preening pop and rock stars and themselves, while they're at it! Includes "Tubes World Tour", "Brighter Day", "Pimp", "Slipped My Disco", "Poland Whole/Madam I'm Adam", "Stand Up And Shout" and "Young And Rich". Now is another blend of insistently catchy songs savvy, somewhat sneering lyricism. There wasn't another band like the Tubes, that's for sure! Includes "Smoke (La Vie En Fumer)", "Hit Parade", "God Bird Change", "I'm Just A Mess", "Pound Of Flesh", "Cathy's Clone", "You're No Fun", a nutty, synthy cover of Lee Hazlewood's "This Town" and more.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
