Movimento Perpetuo
LP (Item 593422) EMI/Drag City, 1971 — Condition: New Copy
A wonderful extension of the Portuguese guitar sound of Carlos Paredes – heard here on a set that also features a second guitar adding in a bit of rhythm – which seems to give Carlos even more space to soar on the strings of his own instrument! Paredes is a player beyond compare – working here on the 12-stringed, round-body instrument of his native Portugal – and handling the instrument in ways that put most other acoustic stringed players to shame. There's a dexterity that rivals that of a classical player, yet a sense of soul that's right up there with better-known players from other global scenes – yet none of whom we think can match Carlos for sheer sense of tone and timing! A few numbers also feature a bit of flute – and titles include "Valsa", "Cancao", "Antonio Marinheiro", "Mudar De Vida", "Movimento Perpetuo", and "Dancas Portuguesas No 2". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
