LP (Item 33120) Cotillion, 1982 — Condition: Used

For those who've ever doubted the influence of P-Funk on the rest of soul music, you only need look at a band like ADC – who've firmly adopted the slap-bass groove style of music, and perhaps polished it up a bit from the Parliament/Funkadelic sound of the late 70s. As with the P-Funk crew, too – ADC here sing on a number of familiar topics, as you'd guess from titles like "U Funk Ula", "Funk On Fire", "Roll With The Punches", "Girls", and "Give It Up". Fortunately, they do a pretty darn good job of it – and the record has a sound that's a lot more soulful than you'd expect, underpinned by a strong 80s groove.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
