Book (Item 505767) McFarland, 2008 — Condition: New Copy

A pretty wonderful book on film scores from our favorite generations – put together by the guy behind the excellent website Scorebaby.com! We're pretty pleased to say that Kristopher Spencer shares our own Dusty Groove tastes in soundtracks – and he really gets past the bigger Hollywood modes to focus on the hipper sides of the scene from the early 50s onwards – the great grooves that came from spy, crime, comedy, and sci-fi films – plus some other genres as well! The chapter headings give plenty of help as to where Spencer's coming from – and they include "Crime Jazz & Felonious Funk", "Spy Symphonies", "Sexploitation Serenade", "Staccato Six Guns", "Rockin Revolution", and "Sci-Fidelity & The Superhero Spectrum". The book's got lots of black and white photos – including some of key music releases – and it clocks in at 366 pages, softcover.  © 1996-2010, Dusty Groove America, Inc.
