CD (Item 512462) Fania, 1973 — Condition: New Copy

The unearthed debut concert of the Fania All Stars in San Juan, and the first ever concert to be held at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum – a blazing set from the vaults of Fania Records seeing release for the first time ever! The Fania stars at hand for the concert is truly exceptional – with Cheo Feliciano, Bobby Cruz, Hector Lavoe, Ismael Miranda, Ismael Quintana, Pete Rodriguez and many more – and it's hard to believe the set's only now being released! With the ultra iconic Live At Yankee Stadium releases of the mid 70s, perhaps the powers at be thought that this recording would get lost in the shadows, but the set is excellent is and really an unearthed treasure – the Fania All Stars in peak form in front of a huge, appreciative audience! Killer percussion and horns throughout, with passionate group and solo vocals – with titles including "Mi Debilidad" with Ismael Quintana, "Que Rico Suena Mi Tambor" with Ismael Miranda, "El Raton" with Cheo Feliciano, "Pueblo Latino" with Pete Rodriguez, "Mi Gente" with Hector Lavoe, "Soy Guajiro". "Soul Makossa" and "Congo Bongo".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
