The great Mickey Newbury rediscovery mission continues – with Newbury's original version of "Heaven Help The Child" on one side – plus a cover by contemporary singer-songwriter-iconoclast Bill Callahan on the flip! Newbury's original kicks off with acoustic guitar and wordlessly emotive vocals, before the folk storytelling kicks in and builds to an anthemic climax. Bill Callahan's cover is faithful, though his style gives the song a more intimate feel.
