Easy listening, but done the KPM Sound Library way – which means that most of the cuts here have a great undercurrent of funk! Given that KPM often employed the same artists who recorded the style of funky easy featured on the famous Sound Gallery compilations, you can bet that this set's a wicked winner – none of the sleepy sounds you'd get from American easy listening, and instead plenty of cool keyboards, slinky rhythms, and sweetly jazzy instrumentation – the best modes learned by the sound library scene in the 60s, taken here to some warmer 70s territory! Titles include "Airport People" by James Clarke, "Finding My Feet" by Steve Gray, "Scenic Route" by Dick Doerschuk, "Scenic Journey" by Keith Mansfield, "Summer Setting" by Keith Mansfield, "Light Preparation" by Nick Ingman, "Natural Blonde" by David Gold, "Sun Goddess" by Keith Mansfield, "Just Another Day" by David Lindup, "Sweet Summer" by Alan Parker, and "Liquid Sunshine" by John Cameron.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Amazing music from Laurance Vanay – actually a recording name for Jacqueline Thibault, a hell of a great keyboardist but an artist the label thought would be better off billed as a man! The sound here is halfway between the spacey experiments of Brian Eno and Cluster, and some of the more ... CD

Blue Note (UK), Late 60s/Early 70s. New Copy 2CD
The headier sound of Blue Note Records – served up in a batch of tracks that focus on that late 60s period when the label started to open up into a much more righteous groove! The styles here are very much in step with the most progressive cultural movements in the US at the time – and ... CD
Funkadelphia, Late 60s. New Copy
A fine compilation of instrumental singles from funk era Philly! The set features gritty soul and funk instrumentals, mostly from the tail end of the 60s – those halcyon days of regional hit singles and funky 45s – when tracks by relative unknowns and local favorites might find a ... CD
