Left For Dead – Prisoners Of The American Dream (2CD set with book)
CD (Item 595940) Nato (France), 1994 — Condition: New Copy
Tony Hymas returns to the themes of his Oyate project – this time with singer/songwriter Barney Bush, in an extrapolation of Native American themes! As you might guess from the title, there's a strongly political bent to the set – one that's followed up nicely in the 36 page, full-color booklet of artwork, images, and writings that support the project. Music is spread out over 2 CDs, and features a fair bit of keyboards and percussion by Hymas, plus instrumentation that includes saxes from Evan Parker, guitar from Jean-Francois Pauvros, and drums from Jonathan Kane. The music is hardly the jazz of Hymas' earlier years – and instead is a mix of Native American styles, soundtrack elements, and other more song-based modes. Titles include "Blizzard Of 93", "Voice Of The Sunrise", "Captain Jack", "Riding Oklahoma", "Cherokee Lullaby", "Letter To A Grandchild", and "Sweet Blessing". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
