Deixa A Negra Gingar
CD (Item 546537) EMI (Brazil), 1960s/1970s/Early 80s — Condition: New Copy
A wonderful collection of work by Elza Soares – jazzy samba tunes, sung with some super-soulful vocals – that raspy tone we've always loved so much in Elza's singing! The bulk of the tracks here are from the late 60s years at Odeon Records, with a good smattering of early 70s tracks too – most done with those sweet jazzy backdrops the label was using heavily during the Blue Brazil generation – in ways that took conventional samba into some very groovy new territory! A few other cuts are from the 80s – mostly from RGE records – and the set features a total of 31 tracks, divided up into "Elza Classica" and "Elza Rara" – with titles that include 'Umha E Carne", "Volta Por Cima", "Branca Nao Bota Banco", "Negro Telefone", "Senta A Pua", "Doce Amor", "Canoa Furada", "Vejam So", "Teleco Teco No 2", "Balanca Zona Sul", "Dja Ba Dja", and "Tributa A Dom Fuas". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
