Everybody Loves A Winner (180 gram pressing)
LP (Item 612653) RCA/FTG, 1983 — Condition: New Copy
Excellent work by Glenn Jones – even if the record is only a 5 track EP! The set is one of those strange little records issued in the early 80s, when the music industry was trying to figure out a way to make money between the ever-escalating cost of the LP and the less-popular 12" single – but it easily packs as much punch as most other full length soul records from the same time. Glenn's incredible in the set – showing that he's one of the few really strong soul talents to emerge in the 80s, with a voice that's perfect for tight-grooving tunes and for mellower ballads. There's a fair bit of keyboard work on the set, and Glenn's voice holds strong in a great way – working wonderfully on titles that include "Everybody Loves A Winner", "Thank You For The Love", "I Am Somebody", and "Keep On Doing". Also features a bonus instrumental version of "I Am Somebody". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | ||||||
