Classic work from Brick – a group who went onto become surprisingly successful during the 70s with a hot Atlanta blend of funky soul and uptempo club grooves – absolutely killing it early on with this self-titled second album! Brick has a feel that would be taken up heavily a few years later by LA funk combos – particularly those on the Solar label – and their style of slicking up funky licks into a tightly compressed sound was obviously a big hit with the kids of their generation. Includes the sample classic "Dusic", plus "Living From The Mind", "Happy", "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody", "Honey Chile", Fun", "Hello" and more. This CD edition on Wounded Bird has 2 bonus tracks: "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody (Single Version)" and "Dusic (Short Version)".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Stax/Wounded Bird, 1970. New Copy
A rare European-only collection of work by Booker T & The MGs – and one that features a fair bit of live material, too – 7 of the album's 12 tracks – which almost makes the whole thing stand out like some obscure live record from the group! There's a definite sense of sear to ... CD

Teensville, Mid 60s. New Copy
A beautiful batch of prime quality, but quite obscure girl group singles – 45s cut for the majors and larger indies in the mid 60s – but didn't break out in a big way, despite being just as lovely and catchy as the big hits of the day! This is the second volume in what we hope will be ... CD

Easily one of the coolest, hippest, and most soulful records that Billy Preston ever cut – very different both from his famous work on A&M, and his early sides for Apple and Vee Jay – and done with a raw groove that makes each cut feel like some rare funky 45! The style here is a ... CD

At Jazz (UK), 2013. New Copy
Some of the deepest sounds we've ever heard from Atjazz – thanks, no doubt, to a key collaboration with Jullian Gomes! The work's got roots in the best older house styles, but also a clean contemporary finish, too – beats that aren't broken, but still have a cosmic crackle – and ... CD
