Proof that Teddy Pendergrass was a fantastic solo act – and some of the most godlike work that he ever recorded! The record shows Teddy moving into territory all his own – with wonderfully smooth quiet storm arrangements offsetting the deeply soulful vocals he forged with Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. This one's perhaps the ultimate Teddy Pendergrass album of all time – as it features the incredible track "Come Go With Me", which kicks off the album, and which has some of the most sublime backings we've ever heard on a mellow soul cut! Other killers include "Turn Off The Lights", "Life Is A Circle", and "Do Me". (Includes the printed inner sleeve.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Philadelphia International, 1976. Very Good+
Nice Philly groove record by this obscure funky band from the 70's. The title cut, "Unemployment Blues", is a brassy funky track with political lyrics, but our favorite cuts on here are the smoother soul cuts, like "Baby I'm Yours" and "Toy Ball", which has a nice ... LP, Vinyl record album

Stylistics
Avco, 1971. Good+
A masterpiece of harmony soul – one of THE all-time greats of the genre, and a lasting treasure from The Stylistics! The album really took vocal soul to a whole new level for the 70s – pushing from the sometimes fragile ballad style of the late 60s into a smoother, more mature sound ... LP, Vinyl record album

Enchantment
United Artists, 1976. Very Good+
Soaring grooves and mellow moments – a perfect blend of 70s soul styles, summed up here beautifully by Enchantment! The album's one of the group's greatest – and certainly one that's been very well-remembered around these parts – thanks to some rock-solid arrangements from Johnny ... LP, Vinyl record album
