An amazing collection of string quartet work composed by Morton Feldman – played to perfection by the Ives Ensemble, who really know how to get the right spirit out of the music! Most of these pieces are filled with space – notes that often ebb slowly into silence before the next one approaches – creating this sense of tension that's really wonderful – yet still quite tuneful too, without as much of the atonality you might hear in other work of this nature. The 4CD set features the complete String Quartet II, from 1983 – heard here in its first recording!  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
