Late 60s magic from El Gran Combo – grooving here at the height of their powers, and still moving nicely with a very youthful vibe! There's a few echoes of the group's previous Latin Soul sets here – especially on the piano lines – but the overall vibe is towards straighter early salsa, the sound that would make the combo huge in the 70s – but which comes off almost even better on a record like this! Rafael Ithier handles piano and leads the group – and the combo features two sax players, who help bring in a sharper sound alongside the vocals, trumpets, and percussion.
