Cameo — Cardiac Arrest ... CD 13.99

Early Cameo at their best – tight, funky, and totally out of sight! The groove here is very different than their 80s work – and the group have this amazing way of focusing all their energy down on the rhythm together, and snapping things along with a really unique approach to funk – one that draws heavily from the bass, but which also isn't nearly the same sort of bass-heavy sound that so many other copycat groups would go for in later years! The album's filled with gems – and includes the classic sample cuts "Rigor Mortis" and "Post Mortem" – plus the killers "Funk Funk", "Find My Way", and "Good Times". Easily one of their best-ever records – and for good reason too! (Cover has some wear annd some staining, with a lot peeling along the bottom two to four inches on the front and back.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

A masterpiece of funky soul – and one of the greatest albums of the early 70s! It all comes together on this one – funk, soul, politics, and production – and the record is still one of the clearest examples of James Brown's genius that you'll ever find! Recorded during the same ... LP, Vinyl record album

Cadet, 1966. Very Good+
One of the better albums by this great Chicago soul studio group – but all of them are pretty nice! The great Richard Evans is still at the head of The Strings, and the album features solo work by Charles Stepney and Lennie Druss, in a cool breezy Chess/Cadet soul jazz kind of mode. The ...
