Kiss Her Goodbye – New York City 1958/1959

CD (Item 564794) Uptown, 1958/1959 — Condition: New Copy

A pretty wonderful, healthily portion of previously unissued material by The Johnny Richards Orchestra – a pair of grandly swinging and more lightly grooving sessions recorded in New York City on 1958 – plus some great 1959 Birdland Broadcasts! The '58 sessions were recorded as the soundtrack to the film Kiss Her Goodbye, though it was never released – we can't speak for the film, but the music is great, diverse and top notch soundtracky jazz with players including Charles Persip, Jimmy Cleveland, Ray Copeland and more. Titles include the "Kiss Her Goodbye" with a vocal by David Allyn, plus "On The Wagon", "Juke Jumps", "Shutters", "Nightmare", "At The Beach" and more. The Birdland Broadcasts are sweet, too, and titles include "Ochyn", "Estoy Cansedo", "Dimples", "Band Aide" and more. Also includes a cut from the A Touch Of Cuba LP arranged by Richards: "The Moon Was Yellow". Nearly 80 minutes of music!  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
