Winter Day's Nightmare

LP (Item 59800) Motown, 1976 — Condition: Used

LP, Vinyl record album

4.90 11

The second Motown release by this group – a nice mix of jazzy soul and rock styles, handled with production and arrangements that are better than the group's first album. There's some nice smooth LA sounds on the set – and the vocals have a rough edge that's almost got a bit of a David Bowie feel on a few cuts, making for a very strange mix of styles. Titles include "Lucy Squirrel", "My First Rainbow", "This Chain", "Hey Carlito", and "Full Winter Day's Nightmare". (Cover has some wear.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Motown, 1976. Very Good+
Great late work by the Jackson 5 – very different than their usual Motown tunes, with a soaring tightly-grooving style that sounds a lot more like the work they cut under the name of The Jacksons for Philly International. The arrangers on the set include Dave Blumberg, Freddie Perren, James ... LP, Vinyl record album

Enterprise, 1971. Very Good- 2LP
Baroquely beautiful work from the Stax soul master – one of Isaac Hayes' heaviest albums of the 70s – and a record so massive, they needed 2LPs to contain the whole thing! The record's a culmination of the rich, full style of soulful arranging that Hayes had pioneered in his early solo ... LP, Vinyl record album
