Visit To A Chief's Son
CD (Item 626798) MGM/Music Box (France), 1974 — Condition: New Copy
A great lost score from Francis Lai – penned for an American film, and not nearly as remembered as his famous French classics! The music here has that wonderful Lai sound of the 70s – a discovery of electric instrumentation, especially keyboards – used sparely with more familiar orchestrations – which are set to Francis' trademark balance of melody and sentiment – but always in ways that are never too overdone. The sense of melody is wonderful – carried out both in driving numbers and more laidback songs – and titles include "Lion Hunt", "Elephant Family", "Kevin Meets Codonyo", "Friendship Theme", and "The Journey" – plus a few rare numbers not used in the film! (Limited to 1000 copies.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
