A nice mid 90s hip hop album that seems to have become a bit of a bench warmer, though we'd say it deserves starting status for the class of '94. An early set on Bad Boy, from the days before Puffy starting flexing too much creative control, when you'd get tracks from them that worked on the radio and in the clubs but would still get the straight hip hop heads open. One of Easy Mo Bee's best set of tracks, and nice rhymes from Craig Mack, before his style got co-opted by other MC's when it still sounded fresh. Includes the classic "Flava In Ya Ear", the cautionary "When God Comes", "Get Down", "Real Raw" – with a dope use of the "Days of Our Lives" theme and a nice quote from his first single "Get Retarded." Nothing serious, righteous or hardcore here, just a straight ahead hit you'll still hear dj's cutting up and getting sampled – a true classic. Includes "Top Billin" (vocal and intrumental) with the first(?) use of the ubiquitous "Go Brooklyn" beat, and "What More Can ... LP, Vinyl record album

The second Stet LP, with the group repping BK in fine style. There's a fair share of Prince Paul niceness here, and Daddy-O's beats are no slouch either, in case the matching sweatsuits aren't enough to get you open. Jazz & Romantic Places
Atlantic, 1955. Very Good-
Jazz in romantic places, but some pretty groovy ones too – a host of global destinations all referenced in the track selection for the set! Dave Pell's tenor is at the lead on most numbers, but the octet's in fine formation too – arranged by Jack Montrose, Marty Paich, Johnny Mandel, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Insides Out
Dakar, 1974. Very Good
A wonderful early record from Bohannon – and with a very different feel than usual! Although most of Bohannon's work from the time is up-tempo and funky, side two of this album has some amazing slow spacey cuts – done with a drum sound that's still quite hard, but just slower than ...
