Bob's a long way from Barbarella territory here – but the album's not a bad little soul effort with help from a large soul choir called the Voices Of Inspiration. There's a male lead singer on all tracks – who we're not sure, but may be Bob, singing in a flanged-out style that reminds us of Nick DeCaro's 70s vocal work, but more towards a soul style. Titles include "Motivation", "Lady Love Song", "Give It Hell", "In Another Life", and "Merci Beaucoup". (Cover has a promo sticker, some wear, and a piece of clear tape on the spine.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Just A Melody
Brunswick, Late 60s. Very Good+
One of a great run of grooves from the legendary team of bassist Eldee Young and drummer Redd Holt – a smoking batch of instrumentals done in the best Chicago soul style of the time! King, 1970. Very Good-
Further genius from James Brown at the start of the 70s – a record that's starting to show some of the more open-ended grooves he'd explore with the JBs on their own albums – longer, stretched-out tracks that are way more than simple funk and soul! There's a sense of freewheeling ... LP, Vinyl record album
Oh Girl
Atlantic, 1972. Near Mint-
Wicked electric funk from Young Holt Unlimited – and a real departure from the sound of their 60s albums, and a step into a groove that's very 70s-styled overall! The album's heavy on Fender Rhodes – played not just by group member Ken Chaney, but also by a young Bobby Lyle – ... LP, Vinyl record album
