Party In Me
LP (Item 6987) Capitol, 1981 — Condition: Used
Jazzy soul from drummer Gene Dunlap – and like his first, kind of a jazz fusion album infused with a modern R&B sound. This one's a bit slicker than Gene's first for Capitol, and more in an 80s groove style – but the overall quality of the work is quite high, almost in a Roy Ayers mode from the same time. Most tracks have vocals – either from Gene, Phillippe Wynne, Pam Lawson, or Roy Ayers diva Ethel Beatty – and tracks include "Something Inside My Head", "Corner Pocket", "There Will Never Be Another (Like You)", "Party In Me", "Jam City", and "This One's On Me". (Cover has some edge wear.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
