Carnivale Electricos
CD (Item 600561) Anti, 2012 — Condition: New Copy
Spiritually resonant party funk from Galactic – an album that nods it's head to a global carnival, be it Mardi Gras in their native NOLA, or Brazil, or the global community at large – ambitious and genre-straddling grooves! The sounds and songs are thematic, and it works incredibly well thanks to Galactic's ever-expansive galaxy of influences and ability. For this record, they've reached out to diverse roster of New Orleans artists – from Mardi Gras Indian War Chief Juan Pardo, to a couple of the Neville Brothers, to carnival rocker Dave Shaw, to NOLA hip hop legend Mystikal. On the international tip, they eam up with Samba poet Moyseis Marques and others. The sounds encompass straight up swampy funk to marching band brass and drums and so much more – a rich stew from the increasingly impressive Galactic! Includes "Ha Di Ka" feat Big Chief Juan Pardo & The Golden Comanche, "Magalenha" feat Casa Samba", "Hey Na Na" feat David Shaw and Maggie Koerner, "Voyageton Flag", "Out In The Streets" feat Cyril & Ivan Neville, "Julou", "Move Fast" feat Mystikal & Mannie Fresh, "Guero Bounce", "Attack", "O Coco Da Galinha" feat Moyseis Marques, "Ash Wednesday Sunrise" and more. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
