Montefiori Cocktail 4 Orchestra
CD (Item 479803) EMI (Italy), 2007 -- Condition: New Copy
A killer leap forward for the sound of Montefiori Cocktail -- one that fits their already-groovy style with a range of hip larger backings! The approach is wonderful -- kind of the ultimate realization of the 60s bossa groove the group was always going for -- done here with instrumentation that's even more faithful to the original spirit, and with production that really gets things right! As usual, core instrumentation is handled by Federico Montefiori on saxes and flute, and Francesco Montefiori on keyboards -- but there's also fuller backings too, which supports the tunes with a sound that's almost in Schema Records territory at points. There's a fair bit of vocals on the set -- mostly sung by Lorraine Bowen, but also featuring Rosalia De Souza on one bossa cut too -- and titles include "Pornello 70", "Ze Liberdade", "Another Melody", "Magic Spell", "My Darling Bossanova", "Ispettore Baldazzi", "Dossier K", "Arrivederci A Capri", and "Mucho Gusto". © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | |||||
