CD (Item 606832) Rogue Art (France), 2012 — Condition: New Copy

Amazing duets between pianists Connie Crothers and David Arner – a set that spins out over the course of four long CDs, with a very open, freewheeling sound throughout! Both players really find their space right away, then take off together into the stratosphere – playing with the kind of energy you might expect to hear from Cecil Taylor back in the 70s, minus a bit of spiritualism – working around some loosely-composed ideas in performances that clearly feature a lot of improvisation! The recording quality is excellent – as is the musicianship – and titles include "Avian Homage", "The Metropolis", "Cycle", "Reflections", "Arcana", and "Three Worlds".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
