LP (Item 601234) Versatile, Mid 70s — Condition: New Copy

A set with slightly obscure origins, but clearly a live date recorded during some of Nina Simone's greatest years – similar to the gritty edge of her concert albums from Europe and Berkeley issued during the 70s – and done with a really rootsy feel overall! The instrumentation feels like a relatively small combo, with Nina playing some mighty bluesy piano – and really stretching out her vocals wonderfully – with that amazingly soulful sound that's light years past conventional jazz singing. Titles include "Gin House Blues", "Ain't Got No/I Got Life", "I Want A Little Sugar In My Bowl", "After You've Gone", "Trouble In Mind", and "Nobody".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
