La Masacre Musical
CD (Item 601282) SAR, 1982 — Condition: New Copy
An early 80s session, but one with a strong 70s salsa vibe – particularly a groove indebted to Willie Colon's crime-era sides for Fania – as you might guess from the image on the cover! The group sports twin trumpets, sparking over lots of lively percussion – and instrumentation that also includes tres from Victor Trias, piano from Alexis Velez, and bass from group leader Marcos Quintanilla! Vocals are handled by the trio of Robgerto Mier, Louie Velez, and Diana Rodriguez – who mostly slides in on the choruses – and arrangement are the best part, thanks to help from Louie Ramirez, Alfredo Valdes, and Willie Rodriguez. Titles include "Bandolera", "Noviecita", "Sibanicu", "Esa China", and "Pescadores De Camarones". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
