Cinema Transcendental (Japanese paper sleeve edition – with bonus track)
CD (Item 612303) Philips (Japan), 1979 — Condition: New Copy
Caetano Veloso at the end of the 70s – still sounding wonderful, but in ways that are quite different from his earliest albums! The sound here is more restrained, and more mature – a beautiful example of the songwriting strength that Veloso evolved as his career moved on – tunes that have a simple, almost elegant brilliance – and which are carried off here by a small backing combo of keyboards, guitar, bass, and percussion. Caetano's vocals have an up-close feel that reminds us of the Qualquer Coisa album – but the overall sound of this set is almost more personal and intimate than that one too. Titles include "Trilhos Urbanos", "Oracao Ao Tempo", "Elegia", "Vampiro", "Aracaju", "Os Meninos Dancam", and "Beleza Pura". This Japanese CD edition includes the bonus "Massa Real".
