A rich overview of the mighty Blue Mink – a unique 70s UK group with a great mix of soul, rock, and pop! Given that blend, the singles here are almost the best representation of the group at their best – as they really showcase their catchy, crossover vibe – yet also demonstrate their way of keeping it real, too – coming across with lyrics and vocals that have a lot more depth than some of their contemporaries – almost with a quality that reminds us more of US crossover soul than other UK pop. There's a trading of male and female vocals – Roger Cook and Madeline Bell, respectively – that fleshes out the sound in ways that are a bit like Rotary Connection – although with obviously different production.
