Eliana Pittman (1972)
LP (Item 358848) Odeon/Amazon (Brazil), 1972 -- Condition: New Copy
A great album from Eliana Pitman -- one of the more soulful singers of early 70s Brazil, working here in a baroquely grooving style that's every bit the best side of the Odeon Records scene! The arrangements have a slightly percolated style that blends orchestrations with small jazz combo touches, acoustic instrumentation with electric, in the spirit of work by Marcos Valle or a number of other similar artists from the time. Production is great too, with a spacious approach to the vocals that sits in contrast to a more compressed style used on the instrumentation! Titles include "Pernambuco", "Murmurando", "Benzim", "Bezouro Manganga", "Ladainha", "E Dinheiro So", "Treze Carneirinhos", and "Beira Mar". (Please note the sleeve corner is slightly creased.) © 1996-2009, Dusty Groove America, Inc. | |||||
