CD (Item 457788) Because/Vice, 2006 — Condition: New Copy
Beautiful work from Charlotte Gainsbourg – the kind of record that would have made her old man proud! The album's got a sense of depth and texture that ranks right up there with the senior Gainsbourg's classics – a breathy approach to the music that's filled with subtle sensuality and warmly flowing energy – a bit like some of the recent work from the Benjamin Biolay camp, but somehow more classic overall. Most of the songs were co-written with Jarvis Cocker, and lyrics are mostly in English – and the record could easily be the one to catapult Charlotte to a wider American audience! Titles include "The Operation", "Tel Que Tu Es", "The Songs That We Sing", "Little Monsters", "Jamais", "Night Time Intermission", "5:55", "Morning Song", and "AF607105". US release contains 2 bonus tracks "Set Yourself On Fire" & "Somewhere Between Walking & Sleeping". (Enhanced CD contains videos for "Songs We Sing" & "5:55" as well as a video interview with Charlotte.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
